Het Aramese volk: Het Aramese volk (niet te verwarren met 'Armeniërs') spreekt Aramees, de taal van Abraham, Mozes en Jezus Christus. Zij zijn het inheemse volk van wat in vroegere tijden 'Aram-Nahrin' werd genoemd en in onze dagen bekend is geworden onder de naam 'Mesopotamië'

Sommige Arameeërs noemen zich in onze dagen "Assyriërs", dit vanwege de haatzaaiende geestelijke koloniale activiteiten van de Westerse missionarissen en diplomaten in het Midden-Oosten in de 16e en 19e eeuw. Andere Arameeërs zijn bekend geworden als "Chaldeeërs". Ze zijn echter allemaal Arameeërs. Overal waar U het woord "Assyriërs" tegenkomt dient U het als Arameeërs te lezen.

Is de 29 jarige Oost- Aramese Chaldese Yacob Issa slachtoffer geworden van een rituele afslachting waarbij het hoofd werd afgehakt en de ogen uit de oogkast werden gehaald?

We lezen onder andere over deze afschuwelijke afslachting, "afschuwelijke littekens van marteling”, “onmenselijke daad”, “mishandeld en dan onthoofd”, “Het hoofd was afgehakt en ogen uit de oogkast verwijderd”, “zijn hoofd was bijna volledig afgehaakt”, “droeg sporen van mishandeling en bijten door honden”

Welke geloof rechtvaardigt dergelijke wreedheden die de menselijke verstand te boven gaan?

Of komen deze wreedheden ons toch niet helemaal onbekend voor? Welke technologie werd ook weer gebruikt tijdens de genocide van 1915? Even enkele citaten voor de geest halen met betrekking tot de Aramese genocide:

“…tiran Ahmed Kegge sloeg daarna de Syrische priester met zijn zwaard het hoofd af en wierp dat voor de voeten van het Moslim gepeupel in de steegjes van de stad, dat daar mee ging spelen, als met een bal……..

…….. bijvoorbeeld de kluizenaar monnik Adam uit Kafro wiens huid werd ontveld, z’n ogen werden uitgehaald met een rood hete ijzer terwijl nog in leven was, of priester Sham’un, de priester van de kerk van Dafne die ook levend werd ontvelt”

De heer Issa werd op zaterdag 14 mei 2011 in Kerkuk, noorden van Irak, ontvoert door onbekenden. De ontvoerders eisten losgeld voor zijn vrijlating. De onderhandelingen liepen op niets uit. En het resultaat was de barbaarse afslachting van de heer Yacob Issa door zijn ontvoerders. Zijn lichaam werd gevonden op maandag 16-5-2011. De heer Issa laat een vrouw en twee kinderen achter.

Kirkuk is een olierijke gebied waar zowel de Koerden als Arabieren aanspraak op maken. In Kirkuk wonen echter ook veel Arameeërs, te weten: West- Aramese Syrisch Orthodoxen, Oost- Aramese Chaldeeërs en Oost- Aramese Nestorianen (‘Assyriërs”). De heer Yacob was een Oost- Aramese Chaldeeërs.

Voor de invasie van de Amerikanen in Irak in 2003 woonden er ongeveer 800.000 Arameeërs van diverse denominaties. Door de aanhoudende moordpartijen en aanvallen op hun kerken is het grootste gedeelte van hen het land uitgevlucht. Het is onbekend hoeveel Arameeërs nog in Irak zijn gebleven. Maar er wordt gedacht aan getallen tussen 200.000 en 400.000.

Kirkuk: young Christian abducted, tortured and beheaded

Ashur Yacob Issa, 29, was the father of three children. He was abducted three days ago. Negotiations for his released failed. This morning police found his body, which bore “horrific marks of torture”. In voicing his outrage, the archbishop of Kirkuk slammed this “inhuman act,” urging everyone to work together to “protect defenceless citizens”.

Kirkuk (AsiaNews) – An Iraqi Christian man was abducted, tortured and then beheaded. The victim was from Kirkuk, northern Iraq. Police found his body this morning. He had been kidnapped three days ago and the family had received a ransom request. However, negotiations for his release did not work out and so he was brutally murdered. For the archbishop of Kirkuk, his death is an “inhuman act” because it goes “against every human and religious principle”. Iraqi Christians have been living in a state of high tension since the killing of Osama Bin Laden, fearing possible revenge by local Muslim extremists.

Ashur Yacob Issa was 29 years old and had three children, a source in Kirkuk told AsiaNews. He was abducted three days ago for ransom. His kidnappers wanted US$ 100,000 to release him. However, negotiations with his family “did not work out”, a local Christian said.

The incident came to a terrible end this morning, when police found the young man’s body, by the side of a bridge. The body showed “horrific marks of torture”, the source said. The head had been cut off and the eyes gauged out of their socket.

The crime sent a shockwave through the city, especially in its Christian community. although the victim was kidnapped in order to get a large sum of money, the death of Osama Bin Laden by the US on 2 May has raised the tension level in the Christian community. Since then in fact, it has been living in fear of possible reprisals by Muslim extremists.

Speaking to AsiaNews, Mgr Louis Sako, archbishop of Kirkuk, condemned the murder of the young man, calling it an “inhuman act” that goes against “every human and religious principle”.

“No man who believes in God and respects life can commit such acts,” the prelate said.

Now Mgr Sako’s concern is for the widow and her fatherless children.

However, in a warning to the perpetrators of this act, the archbishop said, “Let them think about those who are left without a father and a husband. Even if human justice is not done, divine justice shall, sooner or later”.

Lastly, the archbishop of Kirkuk called on police and security forces officials, both local and national, to undertake joint action “so that all people of good will can work together to protect defenceless citizens.” (DS)

Iraq Christian killed after $100,000 ransom demand

KIRKUK, Iraq (AFP) – Iraqi insurgents killed and mutilated a Christian construction worker whom they had kidnapped over the weekend and demanded $100,000 in ransom for, police and medical officials said on Monday.

Ashur Issa Yaqub, a 29-year-old Chaldean Christian, had been snatched on Saturday in the oil-rich ethnically-mixed northern city of Kirkuk, and is survived by his wife and three children.

"A police patrol found the body of the young Christian man, his head was almost completely cut off," said Kirkuk provincial police chief Major General Jamal Taher Bakr, adding that he believed Al-Qaeda insurgents were behind the gruesome killing.

Provincial health chief Sadiq Omar Rasul confirmed the details, and added that the body "carried traces of torture and the bites of dogs".

A local police officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Yaqub had been found with his head "almost cut off fully, his legs and arms tied together, and his clothes covered in blood."

The kidnappers had demanded $100,000 for Yaqub's release. The average daily wage for a construction worker averages to around 25,000 Iraqi dinars ($21).

Kirkuk, the capital city of the eponymous oil-rich province, is at the centre of a tract of disputed territory claimed by central government authorities in Baghdad and Kurdish regional authorities in Arbil.
